Movie Production Filming

As a group  when filming we tried to get the correct mood for every cut that we did. Many times we had to redo takes because the mood was not good or we forgot our lines and it sounded very unnatural. In the Scene i was in i walked in and i told him that his plan was not going to work, to kind of stop him from doing what he was doing because he was going to get beat up by the guard and caught. The next scene i was in wast the last scene of the movie and i came back to Justin to ask how his plan went. He said it went well as he turned to me to show me his black eye.

Genre Research- Hot Fuzz

The opening scene of Hot Fuzz just showed the credits of Simon Pegg forcefully being moved to a English Countryside Town against his will. While this is all being shown all the actors, producers, directors and casting members are all being credited as well. This movie had many parkour scenes which would be a cool addition to our film because that is the type of atmosphere that is needed. The atmosphere that is created with people chasing other people and parkour use is a exciting/ Adrenalin pumping atmosphere. And that's why the wide shots were used because as the audience you want to see everything going on in a wider perspective. The budget of this film was 8 million and the film made 23 million dollars.

Genre Research- Casino Royale

The opening scene of Casino Royale is an aftermath of a fight scene that just occurred in a bathroom. The two main camera shots used in the opening scene are long shots shots and close ups.  Close ups are showing closely in detail of the actions of the characters. The use of long shots in the first scene shows the audience the distance that was traveled upon car chases and foot chases which stunts were preformed. All credits were shown in the first 1-2 minutes for example: Lead actors, directors and the producers that used sound bridges like James Bond in Madagascar. In our film we will try to capture the sense of tension as in the Madagascar scene. This film had a budget of 150 million dollars and made 167 million dollars.

Genre Research- Heat

My group and I chose to study the movie Heat. In the opening of the movie Heat none of the story is given, none of the characters are named and no setting is established. The opening credits of the film list all of the main actors, procedures,directors and casting team. The scene from this movie that we are studying is the bank robbery police chase. This scene uses many over the shoulder shots to show the perspective of the cops chasing and the characters that robbed the bank and are on a get away. There were many wide shots to establish what was going on at all times during the chase scenes. The robbers were wearing suits which were props to distinguish them selves from others. The budget of this film was 60 million and it made 187 million dollars.

Genre Research- World War Z

My group and I also chose to study the movie World War Z.  We chose this film because it has so many incredible chase scenes. In the first 2-3 minutes not very much of the story is told, the only thing that is told is that there is a illness outbreak going on in the world. What we want to study in the film are the long shots and wide shots that are used in the film during the chases. Wide shots were used in the chases to establish what is happening and what will happen next. The long shots were used along with tracking shots to make the chase scene seem very long and suspenseful. The budget of this film was 190 million dollars and it made 497 million dollars.

Genre Research- Baby Driver

The film gives you all the information that is needed to understand what is happening and who the main characters in the main opening of the film. Most of the beginning of the film uses close ups and wide shots. Close ups were used on this film emphasizes his movements and makes him more impact full.  The Director of the film also used a Blue's/ Rock song called Bell-Bottoms by John Spencer to really emphasize what Baby Driver was feeling during a chase because it is a hype/Adrenalin pumping song. The Wide shots in the film were used to show how skilled of a driver he really is and how easy a getaway chase is for him. The film had a budget of  34 million dollars and made 107 million dollars. This film is known for winning several awards for the best film, production and sound track.
